With extensive experience in combat air systems, including fifth and sixth-generation platforms, flight test (qualification and certification), and programme leadership, Swift Works brings together operational expertise and technical excellence to support the development and certification of advanced defence capabilities.
Our leadership team at Swift Works boasts a wealth of experience in the defence sector, led by Rob Slaughter BEng (Hons) CEng FIMechE CMgr MCMI. A retired Royal Air Force Officer, Rob has a strong track record of delivering results across a range of high-profile defence programmes. He played a pivotal role in the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), including UK MOD requirements management for key system capabilities and ensuring strategic alignment with allied partners. His expertise in flight test management is demonstrated as graduate of Empire Test Pilots’ School, where we supervised complex test programmes, streamlining processes to reduce lead times and improve delivery costs for advanced combat aircraft. Additionally, Rob’s involvement in combat aircraft modifications and engineering management enabled us to direct urgent operational changes to the UK’s primary combat aircraft, enhancing mission readiness and effectiveness. Through these projects, Rob has consistently demonstrated its ability to bridge the gap between operational needs and technical execution, ensuring that advanced defence systems are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.
